When it gets cold enough it starts to freeze things and it can cause ice to from on many surfaces. It can cause bowing and warping if the cold attacks your house bad. The cold can damage your roof and it can also cause it to become slanted and wavy when you look at it.

You can have leaks under your house, under the kitchen sink, or the bathroom fixtures. You will need to check your home that morning or when it get warmer outside to check for damage.
If the cold does cause leaks, busted or cracked pipes, you will need to turn off the water and change the pipe or repair it. Also some time if you try to do it yourselves you can hit something and cause more leaks and you may not even know about it until more problems happen.
