It definitely can’t be said, that I am one for new technologies. I’m one of those people who find it exceptionally difficult to get used to all the new technology that today’s world keeps throwing at us. Things like e-mail and instant messaging have only just started to appear in my day-to-day routine, letting go of my old ways with things like writing letters by hand has been very difficult for me to say the least.

Only recently have I started to make use of a simple digital diary, even though they have now been around for ages. So I think you can see why I might have my doubts about making such a big move from traditional film photography to the more modern digital photography with a digital camera.

but I don’t consider myself to be a stupid person, and the truth is you can ignore technology for as long as you want, but you have to ask yourself the question: what good does that do you? I keep seeing what family members and close friends can do with digital photographs and it’s just been making me envious.

The truth is on top of that, I’ve just plain been getting too fed up with having to keep track of all my old film rolls. I’ve even lost a good number of my photos because I’ve lost film rolls and by the time I found them the photos were no longer of any use. So the idea of buying a digital camera was one that I had had for some time now.

Since I’m not one of those people who follow technology all that closely, the first thing I needed to do was do my research to find out what all the digital camera manufacturers had to offer.

So many people just goes straight out to their closest technology oriented store, pick up something that grabs their eye and then if the price isn’t too much for them to pay, proceed to the checkout. You may be thinking this is stupid, surely no one would do that? But I can tell you from my work experience, that people do this day in and day out.

I began my research into the different digital camera companies and their products with Google, even someone like me has to admit that the Internet is the best research tool available to us today. I was able to read through lots of individuals reviews on different cameras and manufacturers.

Once I felt I knew a sufficient amount about the different digital cameras available at my price range I made my decision on which digital camera was best for me. I then proceeded to locate the best possible price, taking into account of course customer service etc. Since these days some of the best prices to be obtained can be located on online stores, this was where I focused my search.

When I was conducting my research, I had also come across a lot of information regarding different online stores, so when it came to making the decision of whom to buy the device from, I already had a line of candidates waiting for me to check out. Thanks to a little bit of extra work on my part, I bought a digital camera that best suited my usage, and thanks to that I have been very happy with it.

Now that I’ve had the chance to really give my digital camera a good try out, I only wish I had made the change to digital sooner. Now with my digital camera I have so many new options available to me, that I am able to obtain far better photographs then I ever could before.

And of course taking the digital photographs is just the beginning with today’s digital technology; with a digital camera you have full control over the whole process of photography! From taking the photographs, to editing them later with your computer.

I never thought I’d say this, but there is no doubt in my mind now that digital photography is pretty much better in every way than traditional film photography and I just wish I’d started using it sooner. What surprises me even further, is that I am actually getting excited about what new technology will end up in our hands in the near future.
